  • The Scone Goddess

Years ago I owned a Bed & Breakfast where each morning started with fresh coffee and warm scones to nibble while our guests awaited the full meal. Guests begged me for my recipe and shared images of the "best scones they have ever eaten."

After my move to Midcoast Maine, I realized that I had an opportunity to be self employed and do what I love most; Bake! I offered fresh baked scones, as well as a few of my original scone mixes, at the farmers market each week. My products were a success!

"Anyone can make them. Everyone will eat them!" Just add cream to The Scone Goddess premium scone mixes for delicious scones in minutes. Over 20 flavors of original or gluten free premium scone mixes available.

  • Anne Woodman Jewelry

    Jewelry • Coaching • Community

As a jewelry maker I feel connected to my inner true self and I infuse that inner true self into every piece I make. When I am bending metal, I am in flow. If the energy is not in flow, I try it a different way. This may be too woo- woo for you but if feels like I am being guided by the universe. I won’t ever force my wire to do something it doesn’t do naturally.

This has become a metaphor for how I try to live my life.

What you get with a piece of my jewelry is something that was made by my hands, guided by my best self, and is unique to any other piece I’ve created. Each piece is hand made by me. You are getting my years of experience as a craftsperson and artist, as well as a bit of the happy energy that lives deep inside me and comes out into everything I create.

  • Yo Momma's Apron Strings

Why aprons? Because I had a yen to make one for myself and being someone who prefers old/vintage over new I went in search of a pattern. The first one I bought was a reproduction pattern from the 20‘s that required one yard of fabric and looked simple enough to make. That was the beginning.

It has been trial and error as I figure out what aprons and fabrics work both for me and for those who like to buy them. What stays consistent is my desire to keep it fun and part of that means I buy enough fabric for one apron, making each apron unique with two exceptions to that rule: linen aprons and child's aprons. I have the honor being the first to try on each newly minted apron to see how the apron design works with the chosen fabric. Most of the time I am pleased....

Yo Momma’s Apron Strings evolves as I tweak the balance between my aprons and the rest of my life. Each year offers new potential as I build on the previous year’s experience to try to make things work more effectively.

  • Vena's Fizz House

When life gives you lemons... Johanna & Steve Corman woke one morning and met necessity head-on after Steve lost his job to budget cuts after nineteen years of teaching. A strong constitution sprinkled with a bit of imagination, an entrepreneurial heart, and a long love-affair with seltzer (fizz); Johanna (though she didn't know it at the time) struck liquid gold. She told her husband Steve, "Mute the TV and listen!"

Both, having a fondness for flavors and beverage making (with or without spirits), created a line of products for the home bartender and beverage enthusiast that includes a line of botanical bitters, Spirit Sippers - a jar filled with fruits, herbs & spices where your favorite spirit is added to create a 'bar in a jar' perfect of picnics, camping, happy hour, or any occasion that calls for a special cocktail. Also included in the collection are Bitter Infused Sugar Cubes that pair beautifully with that Old Fashioned, champagne, tea, coffee or hot toddies. All products are made with clean, all-natural ingredients and locally sourced when available.

A NEW Vena's Portland venue will be opening this summer located at 867 Congress Street that will feature a bar, mixology retail shop and event space.

  • Casco Totes

I started sailing when I was nine years old. I took to it very quickly and learned that I had a love for the water. After sailing at Roger Williams College I wanted to find a job where I could continue being on or around the water. I started at Shore Sails in 1987 and learned that sewing and building sails was something I enjoyed immensely. Building sails then going out and using them on the race course was an amazing sense of accomplishment. I knew that I found my calling. I started my company in 1998 and moved the shop to South Freeport in 2004 where we still reside.

In 2008 we began making tote bags to help balance out our business during the recession. I found our customers were quick to recycle their old sails, so our pool of resources was vast. We strive to recycle up to 90% of the sail, thus limiting what goes into landfills. The first summer we made 300 bags and sold them quickly. Each year following we made more and sold out as quickly. Within a few years we had created a separate small business, Casco Totes, that coexists well with the sail loft, North Sails Maine. We made a website and started growing and we still strive to recycle as much product as we can, keeping those same core values in mind that we started with.

  • Dailey Woodworking

I am a self-taught woodturner and I started turning in the early spring of 2000. It all started because I wanted to make a set of bunk beds for our daughters. I had to teach myself how to use a wood lathe in order to turn the legs and spindles for the beds. I started turning pens and pencils for practice and I have been hooked on turning ever since.

Our products are made from locally grown and sustainably harvested wood. A lot of the burls are brought to me because the loggers don't want them to go to waste and they know that I will turn them into something beautiful.

I make mostly functional, unique pieces. I like to make beautiful, functional pieces that anyone would like to have in their homes. From colorful to minimalist, my pieces fit with most styles and decor. Collections include kitchen and cookware, serving platters and cutting boards, laser engraved drink ware, pens, coasters, and much more.

  • Marin Skincare

Marin is a Portland, Maine-based skincare brand that creates gentle and effective skincare products for people with dry, damaged and upset skin, using a glycoprotein found in lobster as the key ingredient. They discovered in the same way glycoproteins help lobsters regenerate claws, they can help repair our skin barrier. They’re also a natural byproduct of lobster processing, so after using them to clear their own eczema, Marin developed a sustainable way to collect the proteins and use them as an ingredient in their Soothing Hydration Cream; turning what once was wasted into a powerful natural skincare ingredient!

The Soothing Hydration Cream is a rich, deeply hydrating cream great for soothing and repairing dry, damaged and upset skin on the face, hands and body. Blending lobster glycoproteins with naturally skin repairing ingredients, it's free from any known skin irritant, and formulated with an ethos of 'gentle and effective' with skin prone to eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis in mind.

  • Maine Coastal Designs

Art is a passion of mine…I create images from everyday items or things that I see or have experienced. I’m also a painter and I always loved to paint whimsical things and I’ve noticed I’ve brought that element into my current art form.

Though some pieces may look the same, each one is unique because they’re all hand done by me so there are slight variations. There are some designs that I create that are “one and done” as I say or only make a limited number.

I have also made custom pieces for people for their home, camp, cottage or logo for their business!
