Bees are critical for the growing process for much of the foods we all enjoy to eat. It isn't a secret that honey bees are struggling as their numbers decline due to rampant pesticide use and invasive mites.

We are grateful for places like The Honey Exchange in Portland that serve as an educational resource for all things bees. They offer backyard beekeeping classes, function as an on-going resource to keepers statewide and also sell marvelous honey, candles, books and equipment.

Phil and Meghan Gavin share ways you can help protect bees, life a Swarm Gatherers and how they enjoy eating honey--and no, they aren't sick of eating it yet. Chef Josh then shows us Honey Pot de Creme and Honey Sambal Shrimp in the Cookbook section.
