Episode 108: Pork

I'm not a farmer. If left to my own devices I would not be farming. But living the life we do makes me so appreciate where food comes from in a way that living in an isolated bubble couldn't.

-Seren Sinisi

Old Crow Ranch is the kind of place where, once there, you don't really want to leave. Between the towering sunflowers, orange cats named Willy and Waylon, (you can guess whom after), two tow-headed daughters that are eager to show you EVERYTHING, (often in opposite directions), and the rentable tiny house, it is a piece of magic in Durham.

Farmers Steve and Seren have created a place of wonder and sunshine-energy, even when it's cloudy. Steve takes care of all things outside and Seren of all things inside, including their farm store where locals are continually pulling in for meat boxes, soaps, cookies and smiles.

It is important to the farm ethos to promote utilizing the whole animal. To this, Chef Josh creates recipes using cuts of pork that are non-traditional but full of flavor and less expensive than chops.
